Effective date: October 17, 2026.
1. Agreement
This End-User License Agreement (“Agreement”) is between you (an individual, or the organization you represent) and Michael Simpson, doing business as 914 Studio Group (“Licensor”). By installing or using Video Stamp (the “Software”), you agree to this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software.
2. License grant
- Per PC. Licensor grants you a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software on the number of computers (“seats”) you paid for: one for a single license, five for the 5-PC Office Pack.
- Moving a seat. You may move a seat to a different computer if you remove the Software or license from the previous computer.
- Backup. You may keep one backup copy of the installer and license file.
- Organizations. An Office Pack may be used by employees and contractors of one organization, on its computers.
3. Trial use
Without a valid license, the Software runs in trial mode for evaluation only, and its output carries a visible watermark. You may not remove, hide or alter the watermark.
4. Updates
Your license includes updates released on or before the “updates-until” date stated in your license (1 year from purchase). Versions released before that date remain licensed to you perpetually. Versions released after it require a renewal.
5. Restrictions
Except as expressly allowed by this Agreement or by applicable law, you may not: (a) rent, lease, sell or sublicense the Software; (b) share a license file beyond your licensed seats; (c) modify, decompile or reverse-engineer the Software’s own code; or (d) remove or circumvent license checks or trial watermarks.
Third-party component exception. Nothing in this Agreement restricts your rights under the licenses of the third-party components listed in section 7. In particular, you may modify and replace the LGPL-licensed libraries shipped with the Software, and reverse-engineer the Software only to the extent needed to debug such modifications, as permitted by the GNU Lesser General Public License.
6. Ownership
The Software is licensed, not sold. Licensor and its licensors keep all rights, title and interest in the Software, except for third-party components, which are owned by their respective authors. You own the videos you process and the output you create.
7. Third-party components
The Software includes the following open-source components. Each is provided under its own license, and those license terms take precedence over this Agreement for that component. The full license texts are installed with the Software (in the licenses folder, also shown under About).
Versions below are those shipped in Video Stamp 1.1.2 and are updated with each release.
| Component | Version | License | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Qt for Python (PySide6 and Shiboken6) | 6.11.1 | GNU LGPL v3 | download.qt.io · code.qt.io |
| Qt 6 libraries | 6.11.1 | GNU LGPL v3 | download.qt.io |
| FFmpeg (LGPL build) | n9.0.2 (BtbN win64-lgpl-shared) | GNU LGPL v3 (and the licenses of its bundled libraries) | ffmpeg.org · build scripts |
| Python runtime | 3.12.4 | PSF License | python.org |
| cryptography / OpenSSL | 43.0.3 / OpenSSL 3.0.13 | Apache-2.0 / OpenSSL (Apache-2.0) | Listed in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt |
| tzdata · tzlocal | 2024.2 · 5.4.4 | Apache-2.0 / MIT | Listed in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt |
To satisfy the LGPL, we will on request provide the complete source code of the LGPL components in the exact versions we shipped (a written offer under LGPLv3 section 4(d)). Email msimpson@914studiogroup.com. Because the Qt and FFmpeg libraries are shipped as separate replaceable DLLs, you may also substitute your own compatible builds.
8. Accuracy and evidence notice
The Software displays a date and time derived from the file’s metadata, a sidecar log, the file name or a time entered by the user, together with the selected time zone. Its accuracy depends entirely on the recording device’s clock and settings and on the information you provide. The Software does not verify that the camera clock was correct.
The Software writes a new file and does not modify the original; you are responsible for keeping the unaltered original. Licensor makes no representation that the Software’s output is admissible in any court or proceeding. Authentication, admissibility and chain of custody are your responsibility.
9. No warranty
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or of certain statutory consumer guarantees, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you. In that case those warranties are limited, to the extent permitted by law, to the minimum scope and shortest duration the law allows. You may also have statutory rights that this Agreement does not affect.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LICENSOR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS OR BUSINESS, ARISING FROM THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE. LICENSOR’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS UNDER THIS AGREEMENT IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE LICENSE.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation or exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so the above may not apply to you. Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, such as liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
11. Acceptable use
You will use the Software only lawfully, and you are responsible for complying with recording-consent, privacy and evidence-handling laws that apply to the footage you process.
12. Termination
This Agreement ends automatically if you breach it or if your license is refunded. You must then stop using the Software and delete it. Sections 6 and 8 to 15 survive termination.
13. Export
You will comply with U.S. export control and sanctions laws and will not use or export the Software where that is prohibited.
14. Governing law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive venue for disputes is Lake County, Florida, where the Licensor is located.
15. General
- Severability. If any provision of this Agreement is held invalid or unenforceable, that provision is enforced to the greatest extent permitted, or severed if it cannot be, and the remaining provisions stay in full effect.
- Entire agreement. This Agreement, together with the Terms of Sale, is the entire agreement between you and Licensor about the Software and supersedes any prior understanding about it.
- No waiver. Licensor’s failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it.
- Assignment. You may not assign this Agreement except when transferring a seat as allowed in section 2. Licensor may assign it in connection with a sale or reorganization of its business.
